
The Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration (DGIE) has announced the opening of the Rwempasha/Kizinga border post, a new crossing point connecting Rwanda and Uganda.

Located in Nyagatare District, the Rwempasha/Kizinga border post offers is expected to offer a vital link between Rwanda and Uganda, facilitating smoother and more efficient travel for individuals and promoting increased trade and tourism opportunities.
The DGIE confirmed this news on Twitter today on 5th July 2023 in a statement that said.
“The Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration (DGIE) is pleased to inform the general public that Rwempasha/Kizinga border post, a new border between Rwanda and Uganda situated in Nyagatare district is open to all travellers, effective today, 5th July 2023”.
With the opening of the Rwempasha/Kizinga border post, Rwanda and Uganda are taking a significant stride towards fostering closer ties, encouraging cross-border collaboration, and promoting regional integration. The new border crossing will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of both nations while enhancing the overall travel experience for individuals crossing between the two countries.
