President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame have arrived in Seychelles for a two-day state visit, which includes attending the National Day Celebrations commemorating Seychelles’ 47th Independence anniversary.
Upon their arrival, they were welcomed by President Wavel Ramkalawan and First Lady Linda Ramkalawan at the State House.
President Kagame and President Ramkalawan are expected to engage in a private discussion before participating in a bilateral meeting with their respective delegations.
Following the meeting, both Heads of State will address the press and witness the signing of Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding in various sectors such as health, defence and security, law enforcement, agriculture, tourism, and visa waivers.
The Village Urugwiro, in a statement, highlighted these areas of cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, President Kagame is scheduled to deliver a speech during an extraordinary session at the National Assembly, Ile du Port, accompanied by Seychellois Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Roger Mancienne.
It is noteworthy that this is President Kagame’s second visit to Seychelles, as President Ramkalawan had previously visited Rwanda in June 2022 during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
